Tucked in the wilderness in the laid-back Bislig City in the province of Surigao del Sur is Tinuy an Falls, a waterfall that earned the moniker “The Niagara of the Philippines.” Tinuy an Falls measures 95 meter wide and towering at 55 meters, although it is indeed wide, it’s not as tall as I imagined it to be when I first saw its photos from my friend in Davao.
The white waters flowing from the 3 tired falls appears like curtain gushing into the basin. Visitors can pull the raft to get near the cascades of the main waterfall but the best spot for swimming the smaller cascades above that can be reached by climbing up Tinuy-an Falls. Best time to go here is around 9:00 AM to 11:00 Am to witness the lovely rainbow showing in the area.
